Neither the identity of the artist nor of the sitter is known, but this perfectly charming watercolour of a young child is considered good enough to include in our portfolio of smaller portraits.


It dates from circa 1845 and is housed in a frame of the period, not necessarily the original.          


Condition is very fine.                  


The picture is glazed.

 

Picture size 12” x 10” (oval).       Frame size 22” x 19” (oval)
